Metropoulos Amplification is dedicated to building the finest replicas of vintage Marshall amplifiers available. Discerning guitar players are using our recreations and leaving those valuable plexis at home, where they are safe. We also search out and supply restoration grade parts to builders and DIY'ers in our online store. There you can find all of the parts needed to restore classic amplifiers or build one from scratch. When NOS parts are no longer available, we have them manufactured.
Our amp kits feature accurate chassis layouts, vintage spec transformers, correct component values and step by step instructions that are second to none. No corners have been cut and the tone is world class. Compare them to other kits available and we think you'll agree.
MetroAmp provides an online community for amplifier discussion, tech support, and kit building help - join the MetroAmp forum today. We have also opened the Vintage Amplifier & Tech Wiki, a permanent archive of diagrams and knowledge covering vintage amps through to today's amplifiers. The Wiki is constantly growing as users add information.

With cranked Marshall plexi’s and superleads the main concern was volume: either you’d become deaf or you would blow nice 20-25 watts Celestion Greenback speakers.

The Black Keys recently stopped in Detroit to play The Fillmore Theater and we brought down two of our plexi repicas for guitarist/vocalist Dan Auerbach to try out, a Metro 10,000 series 67 replica and a JTM 45 replica. Dan loved both of the amps - he tried them at sound check and then used both for the show.
His usual amps were sitting on the floor, silent. The tone was just sick, and loud as hell. No attenuators in sight! We took some pictures from the side of the stage… the show was January 29, 2009.
